September Goals
By Tiffany Marie At September 03, 2017 0
It's 1:00AM as I write this, I still have a load of laundry left to do, and I have to wake up at 9AM so let's kick this list of goals off with the obvious, shall we?
1. Set a bedtime at night to allow for at least 7 hours of sleep—and follow it!
At nearly 24 years old I'm still struggling with my insomnia with about the same severity as ever, but I'm not going to act like at times I don't add to the problem. I'd like to start managing time better to allow for at least an opportunity to get a decent night's sleep.
2. Fall (and my favorite holiday, Halloween!) is coming. Show it.
This might seem a little goofy, but each year I get older my favorite time of year has been seeming more and more lackluster and it has a serious negative impact on me. I'd like to get decorating for the fall season and Halloween done by the end of this month. I'd even like to change up my photo editing a bit to have more of a fall feel to it, for all of my social medias including my blog. Nothing wrong with staying themed to get in the spirits.
3. Stop slacking on skincare!
The past two months have been really wishy washy with me in regards to my personal health and physical health and you can tell by my skin. I've had more breakouts and dry flakiness these past two months than I had in all of 2016. Regrettably and counterproductively, whenever I'm mentally feeling blah I have a tendency to slack on my self care. But realizing that self care and looking your best can help aid in feeling your best, I really need to turn that habit around.
4. Take more photos.
Really self explanatory. Look good? Take a photo. Feel good? Take a photo. See something beautiful? Take a photo. See something that reminds you of something positive? Take a photo. Do something you're proud of? Take a photo. I'm continuously getting caught up in the rush of life and just because I may not be able to stop and treasure something in the moment, doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to look back on it and do so later.
5. More tarot readings.
Once again, feeling like there's never enough time for anything and generally just feeling not my greatest lately is making me skip out on things that I know make me feel better in some way shape or form. My tarot readings are one of these things. I'd like to be able to pick one or two mornings a week to set time aside to pull myself a quick spread and reading and help me visualize my path and prioritize.
6. Enjoy myself in Salem!
In about two weeks I'll be in Salem, MA. One of my many dream travel destinations. A big goal of mine is to be able to forget the stress, forget my problems, leave them all at home to be able to enjoy myself to the fullest while I'm away for that week. I'll have time to deal with things when I get back, and I can always do my best to take care of what I can before leaving in the first place.
7. Cut back on "treat yourself" days.
I have a huge problem when it comes to spending money that I truly probably don't have to spend in the first place. This doesn't mean I'm not going to treat myself, because there are plenty of ways to do that without going on a shopping spree. But I need to focus on saving some money for a bit, as multiple birthdays (including my own!) and holidays are coming these next few months.
8. Take more freelance jobs.
Not much more has to be said than that. Part of the reason I may be so worn out lately is the fact that on top of spending so much time and energy at work, I've been putting any bit of energy I have left into really trying to take my freelance makeup artistry more seriously and trying to take it to a professional level. I want to reward myself for all the work I've done to try to do that by scheduling a few freelance jobs so that I can get to do what I love.
9. Organize my room—and keep it that way!
I clean my room to the extent that you could nearly eat food off the sheets and floors. And every time I swear, in less than 48 hours, that all goes down the hole. I'd like to not just clean, but get more organized to prevent this monstrosity from happening again.
10. Be more active on social media.
This is another slightly goofy one. But it almost goes hand-in-hand with my goal of "take more photos." Being active on social media for me isn't necessarily keeping up with the latest news, stalking everyone's lives, or conversing with others. Though being able to connect with other people is a great thing, my favorite part of social media is being able to document my life and thoughts in some way shape or form. Whether it be instagram, twitter, youtube, my blogs, to a degree I've regretted letting these things go so I'd simply like to get back to it.
